Choosing the appropriate technology to convert a fleet vehicle to propane is key to a commercial fleet’s alternative fuels program. The fleet operator needs to consider the fleet’s operating conditions to determine the type of system to use. Fleets have numerous options including mono or bi-fuel operation, liquid or vapour injection systems and different tank configurations.

The fleet operator should ensure the propane conversion system is fully compliant with safety and emissions requirements. P38 Inc. has developed specific criteria to ensure technology providers meet the regulatory and operational requirements of fleet users.

There are numerous technology providers supplying underhood systems. A number of Canadian companies manufacture propane conversion systems and numerous systems are available from the United States, Europe and Asia. Not all conversion systems are compliant or meet North American vehicle operating requirements. P38 Inc. only provides fully compliant and operationally compatible systems meeting its criteria.
