Fire Safety Planning for Industrial Occupancies
Office of the Fire Marshall
The Fire Safety Planning for Industrial Occupancies guideline is intended to assist owners and managers of industrial operations to develop and implement effective Fire Safety Plans for their businesses.
The guideline also provides guidance for owners on how to comply with the various aspects of the Ontario Fire Code that apply to their property. The guideline has been designed in an easy to use, step-by-step format, with checklists and examples that can be useful for preparing a comprehensive Fire Safety Plan.
The preparation and implementation of a Fire Safety Plan, helps to assure effective use of people and resources to control and eliminate fire hazards in the workplace and to respond effectively to a fire emergency. This will reduce the incidence of fire, protect life and reduce the impact of fire should one occur.
